Dr. Udesh Oruthota

Dr. Udesh Oruthota is a Senior Lecturer (Grade I) in Sri Lanka Technology Campus, Sri Lanka. He received the B.Sc.(Hons) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, in 2003 and the M.Eng. degree in Information and Communications Technologies from the Asian Institute of Technology, in 2008 Thailand. He received his Doctor of Science (Technology) degree in Communications Engineering from Aalto University, Finland, in 2016. He was a researcher at the Department of Communications and Networking in Aalto University for 8 years. From 2011-2012, he was with Renesas Mobile Europe Oy, Finland as a LTE-Specialist and contributed for physical layer 3GPP standardizations. He worked at Sri Lanka Telecom Services from 2003 -2004 and Dialog Telekom from 2004-2006. He played a key role in several EU funded projects in diverse research areas (Dirty-RF, METIS, EECRT, EIT-ICT) and his current research interests are in RF impairment mitigation, coding techniques, multi-antenna systems, power control, device-to-device communication and heterogeneous networks. He is a reviewer for major IEEE journals, conferences and EURASIP journals dealing with wireless communications, signal processing and networking.
